2To theτῇchurchἐκκλησίᾳτοῦof Godθεοῦ,having been sanctifiedἡγιασμένοιςinἐνChristΧριστῷJesusἸησοῦ,τῇbeingοὔσῃinἐνCorinthΚορίνθῳ,calledκλητοῖςholyἁγίοις,together withσὺνallπᾶσινthoseτοῖςcalling onἐπικαλουμένοιςtheτὸnameὄνομαof theτοῦLordκυρίουof usἡμῶνJesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦinἐνeveryπαντὶplaceτόπῳboth theirsαὐτῶνandκαὶoursἡμῶν·

3Graceχάριςto youὑμῖνandκαὶpeaceεἰρήνηfromἀπὸGodθεοῦFatherπατρὸςof usἡμῶνandκαὶ[the] LordκυρίουJesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦ.

4I thankΕὐχαριστῶtheτῷGodθεῷmyμουalwaysπάντοτεconcerningπερὶyouὑμῶνforἐπὶtheτῇgraceχάριτιτοῦof Godθεοῦτῇhaving been givenδοθείσῃyouὑμῖνinἐνChristΧριστῷJesusἸησοῦ,

5thatὅτιinἐνeverythingπαντὶyou have been enrichedἐπλουτίσθητεinἐνHimαὐτῷ,inἐνallπαντὶspeechλόγῳandκαὶallπάσῃknowledgeγνώσει,

6asκαθὼςtheτὸtestimonyμαρτύριονaboutτοῦChristΧριστοῦwas confirmedἐβεβαιώθηinἐνyouὑμῖν,

7so as forὥστεyouὑμᾶςnotμὴto be lackingὑστερεῖσθαιinἐνnot oneμηδενὶgiftχαρίσματι,eagerly awaitingἀπεκδεχομένουςtheτὴνrevelationἀποκάλυψινof theτοῦLordκυρίουof usἡμῶνJesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦ·

8whoὃςalsoκαὶwill sustainβεβαιώσειyouὑμᾶςto [the]ἕωςendτέλουςblamelessἀνεγκλήτουςinἐνtheτῇdayἡμέρᾳof theτοῦLordκυρίουof usἡμῶνJesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦ.

9Faithful [is]πιστὸςὁGodθεὸςbyδι’whomοὗyou were calledἐκλήθητεintoεἰςfellowshipκοινωνίανwith theτοῦSonυἱοῦof HimαὐτοῦJesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦtheτοῦLordκυρίουof usἡμῶν.

10I exhortΠαρακαλῶnowδὲyouὑμᾶς,brothersἀδελφοί,byδιὰtheτοῦnameὀνόματοςof theτοῦLordκυρίουof usἡμῶνJesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦthatἵναtheτὸsame thingαὐτὸyou speakλέγητεallπάντες,andκαὶnotμὴthere beᾖamongἐνyouὑμῖνdivisionsσχίσματα,you may beἦτεhoweverδὲhaving been knit togetherκατηρτισμένοιinἐνtheτῷsameαὐτῷmindνοῒandκαὶinἐνtheτῇsameαὐτῇjudgmentγνώμῃ.

11It was shownἐδηλώθηforγάρto meμοιconcerningπερὶyouὑμῶν,brothersἀδελφοίof meμου,byὑπὸthoseτῶνof ChloeΧλόηςthatὅτιquarrelsἔριδεςamongἐνyouὑμῖνthere areεἰσιν.

12I meanλέγωnowδὲthisτοῦτοthatὅτιeachἕκαστοςof youὑμῶνsaysλέγει·IἘγὼindeedμένamεἰμιof PaulΠαύλου,IἘγὼandδὲof ApollosἈπολλῶ,IἘγὼandδὲof CephasΚηφᾶ,IἘγὼandδὲof ChristΧριστοῦ.

13Has been dividedμεμέρισταιὁChristΧριστός;NotμὴPaulΠαῦλοςwas crucifiedἐσταυρώθηforὑπὲρyouὑμῶν,Orἢintoεἰςtheτὸnameὄνομαof PaulΠαύλουwere you baptizedἐβαπτίσθητε;

14I thankεὐχαριστῶthatὅτιno oneοὐδέναof youὑμῶνI baptizedἐβάπτισαifεἰnotμὴCrispusΚρίσπονandκαὶGaiusΓάϊον,

15so thatἵναnotμήanyoneτιςshould sayεἴπῃthatὅτιintoεἰςτὸmyἐμὸνnameὄνομαyou were baptizedἐβαπτίσθητε·

16I baptizedἐβάπτισαnowδὲalsoκαὶtheτὸνof StephanasΣτεφανᾶhouseholdοἶκον·as to the restλοιπὸνnotοὐκI knowοἶδαwhetherεἴanyτιναotherἄλλονI baptizedἐβάπτισα.

17NotοὐforγὰρsentἀπέστειλένmeμεChristΧριστὸςto baptizeβαπτίζεινbutἀλλὰto preach the gospelεὐαγγελίζεσθαι,notοὐκinἐνwisdomσοφίᾳof discourseλόγου,thatἵναnotμὴbe emptied of powerκενωθῇtheὁcrossσταυρὸςof theτοῦChristΧριστοῦ.

18TheὉmessageλόγοςforγὰρὁof theτοῦcrossσταυροῦto thoseτοῖςindeedμὲνperishingἀπολλυμένοιςfoolishnessμωρίαisἐστίν,thoseτοῖςhoweverδὲbeing savedσῳζομένοιςto usἡμῖνpowerδύναμιςof Godθεοῦit isἐστιν.

19It has been writtenγέγραπταιforγάρ·I will destroyἈπολῶtheτὴνwisdomσοφίανof theτῶνwiseσοφῶν,andκαὶtheτὴνintelligenceσύνεσινof theτῶνintelligentσυνετῶνI will frustrateἀθετήσω.

20Where [is the]ποῦwiseσοφός;Where [the]ποῦscribeγραμματεύς;Where [the]ποῦdebaterσυζητητὴςtheτοῦageαἰῶνοςof thisτούτου;Notοὐχὶhas made foolishἐμώρανενὁGodθεὸςtheτὴνwisdomσοφίανof theτοῦworldκόσμου;

21Sinceἐπειδὴforγὰρinἐνtheτῇwisdomσοφίᾳτοῦof GodθεοῦnotοὐκknewἔγνωtheὁworldκόσμοςthroughδιὰtheτῆςwisdomσοφίαςτὸνGodθεόν,was pleasedεὐδόκησενὁGodθεὸςthroughδιὰtheτῆςfoolishnessμωρίαςof theτοῦproclamationκηρύγματοςto saveσῶσαιthoseτοὺςbelievingπιστεύοντας.

22Seeing thatἐπειδὴbothκαὶJewsἸουδαῖοιsignsσημεῖαask forαἰτοῦσινandκαὶGreeksἝλληνεςwisdomσοφίανseekζητοῦσιν·

23weἡμεῖςhoweverδὲpreachκηρύσσομενChristΧριστὸνhaving been crucifiedἐσταυρωμένον,to [the] JewishἸουδαίοιςindeedμὲνa stumbling blockσκάνδαλονto Gentilesἔθνεσινnowδὲfoolishnessμωρίαν,

24to themαὐτοῖςhoweverδὲtheτοῖςcalledκλητοῖς,JewsἸουδαίοιςbothτεandκαὶGreeksἝλλησιν,ChristΧριστὸνof Godθεοῦ[the] powerδύναμινandκαὶof Godθεοῦ[the] wisdomσοφίαν.

25Forὅτιtheτὸfoolishnessμωρὸντοῦof Godθεοῦwiserσοφώτεροντῶνthan menἀνθρώπωνisἐστίν,andκαὶtheτὸweaknessἀσθενὲςτοῦof Godθεοῦstrongerἰσχυρότεροντῶνthan menἀνθρώπων.

26ConsiderΒλέπετεforγὰρtheτὴνcallingκλῆσινof youὑμῶν,brothersἀδελφοί,thatὅτιnotοὐmanyπολλοὶwiseσοφοὶaccording toκατὰflesh [were]σάρκα,notοὐmanyπολλοὶpowerfulδυνατοί,notοὐmanyπολλοὶof noble birthεὐγενεῖς·

27Butἀλλὰtheτὰfoolish thingsμωρὰof theτοῦworldκόσμουhas chosenἐξελέξατοὁGodθεός,thatἵναHe might shameκαταισχύνῃtheτοὺςwiseσοφούς,andκαὶtheτὰweak thingsἀσθενῆof theτοῦworldκόσμουchoseἐξελέξατοὁGodθεός,thatἵναHe might shameκαταισχύνῃtheτὰstrongἰσχυρά,

28andκαὶtheτὰlow-bornἀγενῆof theτοῦworldκόσμουandκαὶthe thingsτὰbeing despisedἐξουθενημέναchoseἐξελέξατοὁGodθεός,the thingsτὰnotμὴbeingὄντα,thatἵναthe thingsτὰbeingὄνταHe might annulκαταργήσῃ,

29so thatὅπωςnotμὴmight boastκαυχήσηταιallπᾶσαfleshσὰρξbeforeἐνώπιοντοῦGodθεοῦ.

30Out ofἐξHimαὐτοῦhoweverδὲyouὑμεῖςareἐστεinἐνChristΧριστῷJesusἸησοῦ,whoὃςhas been madeἐγενήθηwisdomσοφίαunto usἡμῖνfromἀπὸGodθεοῦ,righteousnessδικαιοσύνηandτεalsoκαὶsanctificationἁγιασμὸςandκαὶredemptionἀπολύτρωσις,

31in order thatἵναasκαθὼςit has been writtenγέγραπται·The [one]Ὁboastingκαυχώμενοςin [the]ἐνLordκυρίῳlet him boastκαυχάσθω.
