1PaulΠαῦλοςan apostleἀπόστολοςof ChristΧριστοῦJesusἸησοῦaccording toκατ’[the] commandἐπιταγὴνof Godθεοῦ[the] Saviorσωτῆροςof usἡμῶνandκαὶof ChristΧριστοῦJesusἸησοῦtheτῆςhopeἐλπίδοςof usἡμῶν

2To TimothyΤιμοθέῳ[my] trueγνησίῳchildτέκνῳinἐν[the] faithπίστει·Graceχάρις,mercyἔλεος,[and] peaceεἰρήνηfromἀπὸGodθεοῦ[the] FatherπατρὸςandκαὶChristΧριστοῦJesusἸησοῦtheτοῦLordκυρίουof usἡμῶν.

3Just asΚαθὼςI urgedπαρεκάλεσάyouσεto remainπροσμεῖναιinἐνEphesusἘφέσῳ,[when] I was goingπορευόμενοςtoεἰςMacedoniaΜακεδονίαν,so thatἵναyou might warnπαραγγείλῃςcertain menτισὶνnotμὴto teach other doctrinesἑτεροδιδασκαλεῖν

4norμηδὲto give heedπροσέχεινto mythsμύθοιςandκαὶgenealogiesγενεαλογίαιςendlessἀπεράντοις,whichαἵτινεςspeculationsἐκζητήσειςbringπαρέχουσιratherμᾶλλονthanἢstewardshipοἰκονομίανof Godθεοῦwhich [is]τὴνinἐνfaithπίστει—

5τὸAndδὲthe goalτέλοςof [our]τῆςinstructionπαραγγελίαςisἐστὶνloveἀγάπηout ofἐκa pureκαθαρᾶςheartκαρδίαςandκαὶa conscienceσυνειδήσεωςgoodἀγαθῆςandκαὶa faithπίστεωςsincereἀνυποκρίτου,

6from whichὧνsomeτινεςhaving missed the markἀστοχήσαντεςhave turned asideἐξετράπησανtoεἰςmeaningless discourseματαιολογίαν,

7desiringθέλοντεςto beεἶναιteachers of the Lawνομοδιδάσκαλοι,notμὴunderstandingνοοῦντεςneitherμήτεwhatἃthey are sayingλέγουσινnorμήτε[that] aboutπερὶwhichτίνωνthey confidently assertδιαβεβαιοῦνται.

8We knowΟἴδαμενnowδὲthatὅτιgood [is]καλὸςtheὁlawνόμοςifἐάνoneτιςitαὐτῷlawfullyνομίμωςusesχρῆται,

9knowingεἰδὼςthisτοῦτο,thatὅτιfor a righteous [one]δικαίῳlawνόμοςnotοὐis enactedκεῖται,for [the] lawlessἀνόμοιςhoweverδὲandκαὶinsubordinateἀνυποτάκτοις,for [the] ungodlyἀσεβέσιandκαὶsinfulἁμαρτωλοῖς,for [the] unholyἀνοσίοιςandκαὶprofaneβεβήλοις,for murderers of fathersπατρολῴαιςandκαὶmurderers of mothersμητρολῴαις,for slayers of manἀνδροφόνοις,

10for the sexually immoralπόρνοις,homosexualsἀρσενοκοίταις,enslaversἀνδραποδισταῖς,liarsψεύσταις,perjurersἐπιόρκοις,andκαὶifεἴanythingτιotherἕτερονin theτῇbeing soundὑγιαινούσῃteachingδιδασκαλίᾳis opposed toἀντίκειται,

11according toκατὰtheτὸgospelεὐαγγέλιονof theτῆςgloryδόξηςof theτοῦblessedμακαρίουGodθεοῦ,with whichὃhave been entrustedἐπιστεύθηνIἐγώ.

12ThankfulnessΧάρινI haveἔχωfor the [One]τῷhaving strengthenedἐνδυναμώσαντίmeμεChristΧριστῷJesusἸησοῦtheτῷLordκυρίῳof usἡμῶν,thatὅτιfaithfulπιστόνmeμεHe esteemedἡγήσατοhaving appointed [me]θέμενοςtoεἰςserviceδιακονίαν,

13τὸformerlyπρότερονbeingὄνταa blasphemerβλάσφημονandκαὶa persecutorδιώκτηνandκαὶinsolentὑβριστήν·butἀλλὰI was shown mercyἠλεήθην,becauseὅτιbeing ignorantἀγνοῶνI did [it]ἐποίησαinἐνunbeliefἀπιστίᾳ,

14Surpassingly increasedὑπερεπλεόνασενthenδὲtheἡgraceχάριςof theτοῦLordκυρίουof usἡμῶνwithμετὰ[the] faithπίστεωςandκαὶloveἀγάπηςthat [are]τῆςinἐνChristΧριστῷJesusἸησοῦ.

15Trustworthy [is]πιστὸςtheὁsayingλόγοςandκαὶof fullπάσηςacceptanceἀποδοχῆςworthyἄξιος,thatὅτιChristΧριστὸςJesusἸησοῦςcameἦλθενintoεἰςtheτὸνworldκόσμονsinnersἁμαρτωλοὺςto saveσῶσαι·of whomὧν[the] foremostπρῶτόςamεἰμιIἐγώ,

16Butἀλλὰbecause ofδιὰthisτοῦτοI was shown mercyἠλεήθην,thatἵναinἐνmeἐμοὶ[the] foremostπρώτῳmight displayἐνδείξηταιChristΧριστὸςJesusἸησοῦςτὴνperfectἅπασανpatienceμακροθυμίαν,asπρὸςa patternὑποτύπωσινfor thoseτῶνbeing aboutμελλόντωνto believeπιστεύεινonἐπ’Himαὐτῷtoεἰςlifeζωὴνeternalαἰώνιον.

17Toτῷnowδὲ[the] Kingβασιλεῖof theτῶνagesαἰώνων,[the] immortalἀφθάρτῳ,invisibleἀοράτῳ,onlyμόνῳGodθεῷ,[be] honorτιμὴandκαὶgloryδόξαtoεἰςtheτοὺςagesαἰῶναςof theτῶνagesαἰώνων·Amenἀμήν.

18ThisΤαύτηντὴνchargeπαραγγελίανI commitπαρατίθεμαίto youσοι,[my] childτέκνονTimothyΤιμόθεε,according toκατὰtheτὰςgoing beforeπροαγούσαςas toἐπὶyouσὲpropheciesπροφητείας,thatἵναyou might warστρατεύῃbyἐνthemαὐταῖςtheτὴνgoodκαλὴνwarfareστρατείαν,

19holdingἔχωνfaithπίστινandκαὶa goodἀγαθὴνconscienceσυνείδησιν,whichἥνsomeτινεςhaving cast awayἀπωσάμενοιconcerningπερὶtheτὴνfaithπίστινhave caused a shipwreckἐναυάγησαν·

20among whomὧνareἐστινHymenaeusὙμέναιοςandκαὶAlexanderἈλέξανδρος,whomοὓςI have handed overπαρέδωκατῷto SatanΣατανᾷthatἵναthey may be disciplinedπαιδευθῶσιnotμὴto blasphemeβλασφημεῖν.
