2 Thessalonians 2

1We imploreἘρωτῶμενnowδὲyouὑμᾶς,brothersἀδελφοί,byὑπὲρtheτῆςcomingπαρουσίαςof theτοῦLordκυρίουof usἡμῶνJesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦandκαὶourἡμῶνgathering togetherἐπισυναγωγῆςuntoἐπ’Himαὐτόν,

2forεἰςτὸnotμὴquicklyταχέωςto be shakenσαλευθῆναιyouὑμᾶςinἀπὸτοῦmindνοὸςnorμηδὲto be troubledθροεῖσθαιneitherμήτεbyδιὰspiritπνεύματοςnorμήτεbyδιὰwordλόγουnorμήτεbyδι’letterἐπιστολῆςas ifὡςbyδι’usἡμῶν,asὡςthatὅτιis presentἐνέστηκενtheἡdayἡμέραof theτοῦLordκυρίου.

3Noμήoneτιςyouὑμᾶςshould deceiveἐξαπατήσῃinκατὰnot oneμηδέναwayτρόπον·because [it is]ὅτιifἐὰνnot [until]μὴshall have comeἔλθῃtheἡapostasyἀποστασίαfirstπρῶτονandκαὶshall have been revealedἀποκαλυφθῇtheὁmanἄνθρωποςτῆςof lawlessnessἀνομίας,theὁsonυἱὸςτῆςof destructionἀπωλείας,

4the [one]ὁopposingἀντικείμενοςandκαὶexalting himselfὑπεραιρόμενοςaboveἐπὶeveryπάνταso-calledλεγόμενονgodθεὸνorἢobject of worshipσέβασμα,so as forὥστεhimαὐτὸνinεἰςtheτὸνtempleναὸντοῦof Godθεοῦto sit downκαθίσαιsetting forthἀποδεικνύνταhe himselfἑαυτὸνthatὅτιisἔστινGodθεός.

5Notοὐdo you rememberμνημονεύετεthatὅτιyetἔτιbeingὢνwithπρὸςyouὑμᾶςthese thingsταῦταI was sayingἔλεγονto youὑμῖν;

6Andκαὶnowνῦνthat whichτὸis restrainingκατέχονyou knowοἴδατε,forεἰςτὸto be revealedἀποκαλυφθῆναιhimαὐτὸνinἐντῷhisἑαυτοῦtimeκαιρῷ·

7Theτὸforγὰρmysteryμυστήριονalreadyἤδηis workingἐνεργεῖταιτῆςof lawlessnessἀνομίας·only [there is]μόνονthe [one]ὁrestraining [it]κατέχωνat presentἄρτιuntilἕωςout ofἐκ[the] midstμέσουhe might be [gone]γένηται.

8Andκαὶthenτότεwill be revealedἀποκαλυφθήσεταιtheὁlawless [one]ἄνομος,whomὃνtheὁLordκύριοςJesusἸησοῦςwill slayἀνελεῖwith theτῷbreathπνεύματιof theτοῦmouthστόματοςof Himαὐτοῦandκαὶwill annulκαταργήσειby theτῇappearingἐπιφανείᾳof theτῆςcomingπαρουσίαςof Himαὐτοῦ,

9whoseοὗisἐστινἡcomingπαρουσίαaccording toκατ’[the] workingἐνέργειαντοῦof SatanΣατανᾶinἐνeveryπάσῃpowerδυνάμειandκαὶin signsσημείοιςandκαὶin wondersτέρασινof falsehoodψεύδους

10andκαὶinἐνeveryπάσῃdeceitἀπάτῃof wickednessἀδικίαςunto thoseτοῖςperishingἀπολλυμένοις,in return forἀνθ’whichὧνtheτὴνloveἀγάπηνof theτῆςtruthἀληθείαςnotοὐκthey receivedἐδέξαντοin order forεἰςτὸto be savedσωθῆναιthemαὐτούς·

11Andκαὶbecause ofδιὰthisτοῦτοwill sendπέμπειto themαὐτοῖςὁGodθεὸςa workingἐνέργειανof delusionπλάνηςforεἰςτὸto believeπιστεῦσαιthemαὐτοὺςwhatτῷ[is] falseψεύδει,

12in order thatἵναshould be judgedκριθῶσινallπάντεςthoseοἱnotμὴhaving believedπιστεύσαντεςtheτῇtruthἀληθείᾳbutἀλλὰhaving delightedεὐδοκήσαντεςτῇin unrighteousnessἀδικίᾳ.

13WeἩμεῖςhoweverδὲoughtὀφείλομενto give thanksεὐχαριστεῖντῷto Godθεῷalwaysπάντοτεconcerningπερὶyouὑμῶν,brothersἀδελφοὶbelovedἠγαπημένοιbyὑπὸ[the] Lordκυρίου,thatὅτιhas chosenεἵλατοyouὑμᾶςὁGodθεὸςbeginningἀπαρχὴνuntoεἰςsalvationσωτηρίανinἐν[the] sanctificationἁγιασμῷof [the] Spiritπνεύματοςandκαὶ[by] faithπίστειof [the] truthἀληθείας,

14toεἰςthisὃHe calledἐκάλεσενyouὑμᾶςthroughδιὰtheτοῦgospelεὐαγγελίουof usἡμῶν,toεἰς[the] obtainingπεριποίησινof [the] gloryδόξηςof theτοῦLordκυρίουof usἡμῶνJesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦ.

15Soἄραthenοὖν,brothersἀδελφοί,stand firmστήκετε,andκαὶhold fastκρατεῖτεto theτὰςtraditionsπαραδόσειςthatἃςyou were taughtἐδιδάχθητεwhetherεἴτεbyδιὰwordλόγουorεἴτεbyδι’letterἐπιστολῆςfrom usἡμῶν.

16HimselfΑὐτὸςnowδὲtheὁLordκύριοςof usἡμῶνJesusἸησοῦςChristΧριστὸςandκαὶGodθεὸςtheὁFatherπατὴρof usἡμῶν,the [One]ὁhaving lovedἀγαπήσαςusἡμᾶςandκαὶhaving given [us]δοὺςcomfortπαράκλησινeternalαἰωνίανandκαὶhopeἐλπίδαgoodἀγαθὴνbyἐνgraceχάριτι,

17may He encourageπαρακαλέσαιyourὑμῶντὰςheartsκαρδίαςandκαὶmay He strengthen [them]στηρίξαιinἐνeveryπαντὶworkἔργῳandκαὶwordλόγῳgoodἀγαθῷ.
