Galatians 5

1InτῇfreedomἐλευθερίᾳusἡμᾶςChristΧριστὸςhas set freeἠλευθέρωσεν·stand firmστήκετεthereforeοὖνandκαὶnotμὴagainπάλινin a yokeζυγῷof slaveryδουλείαςentangle yourselvesἐνέχεσθε.

2BeholdἼδεIἐγὼPaulΠαῦλοςsayλέγωto youὑμῖνthatὅτιifἐὰνyou shall become circumcisedπεριτέμνησθεChristΧριστὸςyouὑμᾶςnothingοὐδὲνwill profitὠφελήσει.

3I testifyμαρτύρομαιnowδὲagainπάλινto everyπαντὶmanἀνθρώπῳbeing circumcisedπεριτεμνομένῳthatὅτιa debtorὀφειλέτηςhe isἐστὶνallὅλονtheτὸνLawνόμονto keepποιῆσαι.

4You are severedκατηργήθητεfromἀπὸChristΧριστοῦwhoeverοἵτινεςinἐν[the] Lawνόμῳare being justifiedδικαιοῦσθε,fromτῆςgraceχάριτοςyou have fallen awayἐξεπέσατε.

5Weἡμεῖςforγὰρthrough [the] Spiritπνεύματιbyἐκfaithπίστεως[the] hopeἐλπίδαof righteousnessδικαιοσύνηςeagerly awaitἀπεκδεχόμεθα.

6InἐνforγὰρChristΧριστῷJesusἸησοῦneitherοὔτεcircumcisionπεριτομήanyτιhas powerἰσχύειnorοὔτεuncircumcisionἀκροβυστία,but onlyἀλλὰfaithπίστιςthroughδι’loveἀγάπηςworkingἐνεργουμένη.

7You were runningἘτρέχετεwellκαλῶς·Whoτίςyouὑμᾶςcut intoἐνέκοψενtheτῇtruthἀληθείᾳnotμὴto obeyπείθεσθαι;

8[This]ἡpersuasion [is]πεισμονὴnotοὐκofἐκthe [One]τοῦcallingκαλοῦντοςyouὑμᾶς.

9A littleμικρὰleavenζύμηwholeὅλονtheτὸlumpφύραμαleavensζυμοῖ.

10Iἐγὼam confidentπέποιθαas toεἰςyouὑμᾶςinἐν[the] Lordκυρίῳthatὅτιnoοὐδὲνotherἄλλοmind will you haveφρονήσετε·The [one]ὁhoweverδὲtroublingταράσσωνyouὑμᾶςwill bearβαστάσειtheτὸjudgmentκρίμα,whoeverὅστιςifἐὰνhe might beᾖ.

11Iἐγὼnowδέ,brothersἀδελφοί,ifεἰcircumcisionπεριτομὴνstillἔτιproclaimκηρύσσω,whyτίstillἔτιam I persecutedδιώκομαι;In that caseἄραhas been abolishedκατήργηταιtheτὸoffenseσκάνδαλονof theτοῦcrossσταυροῦ.

12I wishὄφελονalsoκαὶwill emasculate themselvesἀποκόψονταιthoseοἱupsettingἀναστατοῦντεςyouὑμᾶς.

13YouὙμεῖςforγὰρtoἐπ’freedomἐλευθερίᾳwere calledἐκλήθητε,brothersἀδελφοί·butμόνονnotμὴtheτὴνfreedomἐλευθερίανforεἰςan opportunityἀφορμὴνto theτῇfleshσαρκί,Ratherἀλλὰthroughδιὰτῆςloveἀγάπηςserveδουλεύετεone anotherἀλλήλοις·

14ὁForγὰρthe entireπᾶςLawνόμοςinἐνoneἑνὶwordλόγῳis fulfilledπεπλήρωται,inἐνthisτῷ·You shall loveἈγαπήσειςtheτὸνneighborπλησίονof youσουasὡςyourselfσεαυτόν.

15Ifεἰhoweverδὲone anotherἀλλήλουςyou biteδάκνετεandκαὶdevourκατεσθίετε,take heedβλέπετεlestμὴbyὑπ’one anotherἀλλήλωνyou might be consumedἀναλωθῆτε.

16I sayΛέγωnowδέ,by [the] Spiritπνεύματιwalkπεριπατεῖτεandκαὶ[the] desireἐπιθυμίαν[of the] fleshσαρκὸςnoοὐnotμὴyou should gratifyτελέσητε.

17TheἡforγὰρfleshσὰρξdesiresἐπιθυμεῖagainstκατὰtheτοῦSpiritπνεύματος,τὸandδὲthe Spiritπνεῦμαagainstκατὰtheτῆςfleshσαρκός,theseταῦταforγὰρto one anotherἀλλήλοιςare opposedἀντίκειται,in orderἵναnotμὴthatἃifἐὰνyou might wishθέλητεthose thingsταῦταyou should doποιῆτε.

18Ifεἰhoweverδὲ[the] Spiritπνεύματιyou are led byἄγεσθε,notοὐκyou areἐστὲunderὑπὸ[the] Lawνόμον.

19Evidentφανερὰnowδέareἐστινtheτὰworksἔργαof theτῆςfleshσαρκός,whichἅτινάareἐστινsexual immoralityπορνεία,impurityἀκαθαρσία,sensualityἀσέλγεια,

20idolatryεἰδωλολατρία,sorceryφαρμακεία,enmitiesἔχθραι,strifeἔρις,jealousyζῆλος,outbursts of angerθυμοί,contentionsἐριθεῖαι,dissensionsδιχοστασίαι,factionsαἱρέσεις,

21envyingsφθόνοι,drunkennessesμέθαι,carousingκῶμοι,andκαὶthingsτὰlikeὅμοιαtheseτούτοις,as to whichἃI forewarnπρολέγωyouὑμῖνeven asκαθὼςI warned beforeπροεῖπονthatὅτιthoseοἱsuchτὰthingsτοιαῦταdoingπράσσοντεςkingdomβασιλείανGod’sθεοῦnotοὐwill inheritκληρονομήσουσιν.

22ὉButδὲthe fruitκαρπὸςof theτοῦSpiritπνεύματόςisἐστινloveἀγάπη,joyχαρά,peaceεἰρήνη,patienceμακροθυμία,kindnessχρηστότης,goodnessἀγαθωσύνη,faithfulnessπίστις,

23gentlenessπραΰτης,self-controlἐγκράτεια·againstκατὰthingsτῶνsuchτοιούτωνnoοὐκthere isἔστινlawνόμος.

24Thoseοἱnowδὲτοῦof ChristΧριστοῦtheτὴνfleshσάρκαhave crucifiedἐσταύρωσανwithσὺν[its]τοῖςpassionsπαθήμασινandκαὶταῖςdesiresἐπιθυμίαις.

25Ifεἰwe liveζῶμενby [the] Spiritπνεύματι,by [the] Spiritπνεύματιalsoκαὶwe should walkστοιχῶμεν.

26Notμὴwe should becomeγινώμεθαboastfulκενόδοξοι,one anotherἀλλήλουςprovokingπροκαλούμενοι,one anotherἀλλήλοιςenvyingφθονοῦντες.
