Romans 14
1The [one]Τὸνnowδὲbeing weakἀσθενοῦνταin theτῇfaithπίστειreceiveπροσλαμβάνεσθε,notμὴforεἰςpassing judgmentδιακρίσειςon reasoningsδιαλογισμῶν.
2Oneὃςindeedμὲνbelievesπιστεύειto eatφαγεῖνall thingsπάντα,the [one]ὁhoweverδὲbeing weakἀσθενῶνvegetablesλάχαναeatsἐσθίει.
3The [one]ὁeatingἐσθίωνthe [one]τὸνnotμὴeatingἐσθίονταnotμὴlet him despiseἐξουθενείτω,the [one]ὁnowδὲnotμὴeatingἐσθίωνhimτὸνeatingἐσθίονταnotμὴlet him judgeκρινέτω,ὁGodθεὸςforγὰρhimαὐτὸνhas receivedπροσελάβετο.
4Youσὺwhoτίςareεἶὁjudgingκρίνωνanother’sἀλλότριονservantοἰκέτην;To theτῷownἰδίῳmasterκυρίῳhe standsστήκειorἢfallsπίπτει·He will be upheldσταθήσεταιhoweverδέ,able isδυνατεῖforγὰρtheὁLordκύριοςto upholdστῆσαιhimαὐτόν.
5OneὋςtrulyμὲνjudgesκρίνειa dayἡμέραν[to be] aboveπαρ’[another] dayἡμέραν,oneὃςhoweverδὲjudgesκρίνειeveryπᾶσανday [alike]ἡμέραν·Eachἕκαστοςinἐνtheτῷownἰδίῳmindνοῒlet be fully assuredπληροφορείσθω·
6The [one]ὁregardingφρονῶνtheτὴνdayἡμέρανto [the] Lordκυρίῳregards [it]φρονεῖ.does observeκαὶthe [one]ὁeatingἐσθίωνto [the] Lordκυρίῳeatsἐσθίει,he gives thanksεὐχαριστεῖforγὰρτῷto Godθεῷ·andκαὶthe [one]ὁnotμὴeatingἐσθίωνto [the] Lordκυρίῳnotοὐκhe eatsἐσθίει,andκαὶhe gives thanksεὐχαριστεῖτῷto Godθεῷ.
7No oneΟὐδεὶςforγὰρof usἡμῶνto himselfἑαυτῷlivesζῇ,andκαὶno oneοὐδεὶςto himselfἑαυτῷdiesἀποθνῄσκει·
8Ifἐάνbothτεforγὰρwe should liveζῶμεν,to theτῷLordκυρίῳwe liveζῶμεν,ifἐάνalsoτεwe should dieἀποθνῄσκωμεν,to theτῷLordκυρίῳwe dieἀποθνῄσκομεν.Ifἐάνbothτεthereforeοὖνwe should liveζῶμενifἐάνalsoτεwe should dieἀποθνῄσκωμεν,theτοῦLord’sκυρίουwe areἐσμέν.
9UntoεἰςthisτοῦτοforγὰρChristΧριστὸςdiedἀπέθανενandκαὶlived againἔζησενthatἵναboth [the]καὶdeadνεκρῶνandκαὶlivingζώντωνHe might rule overκυριεύσῃ.
10YouΣὺhoweverδὲwhyτίjudge youκρίνειςtheτὸνbrotherἀδελφόνor youσου;orἢalsoκαὶyouσὺwhyτίdo despiseἐξουθενεῖςtheτὸνbrotherἀδελφόνof youσου;Allπάντεςforγὰρwe will stand beforeπαραστησόμεθαtheτῷjudgment seatβήματιofτοῦGodθεοῦ,
11It has been writtenγέγραπταιforγάρ·LiveΖῶIἐγώ,saysλέγει[the] Lordκύριος,thatὅτιto Meἐμοὶwill bowκάμψειeveryπᾶνkneeγόνυ,andκαὶeveryπᾶσαtongueγλῶσσαwill confessἐξομολογήσεταιτῷto Godθεῷ.
12Soἄραeachἕκαστοςof usἡμῶνconcerningπερὶhimselfἑαυτοῦaccountλόγονwill giveδώσει.
13No longerΜηκέτιthereforeοὖνone anotherἀλλήλουςshould we judgeκρίνωμεν·butἀλλὰthisτοῦτοdetermineκρίνατεratherμᾶλλον,τὸnotμὴto putτιθέναι[any] stumbling blockπρόσκομμαbefore [your]τῷbrotherἀδελφῷorἢsnareσκάνδαλον.
14I knowοἶδαandκαὶI am persuadedπέπεισμαιin [the]ἐνLordκυρίῳJesusἸησοῦthatὅτιnothing [is]οὐδὲνuncleanκοινὸνofδι’itselfἑαυτοῦ·ifεἰnotμὴto himτῷreckoningλογιζομένῳanythingτιuncleanκοινὸνto beεἶναι,to that oneἐκείνῳunclean [it is]κοινόν.
15Ifεἰforγὰρon account ofδιὰfoodβρῶμαtheὁbrotherἀδελφόςof youσουis grievedλυπεῖται,no longerοὐκέτιaccording toκατὰloveἀγάπηνare you walkingπεριπατεῖς.Notμὴwith theτῷfoodβρώματίof youσουthat oneἐκεῖνονdestroyἀπόλλυεforὑπὲρwhomοὗChristΧριστὸςdiedἀπέθανεν.
16Notμὴlet be spoken of as evilβλασφημείσθωthereforeοὖνyourὑμῶντὸgoodἀγαθόν.
17Notοὐforγάρisἐστινtheἡkingdomβασιλείατοῦof Godθεοῦeatingβρῶσιςandκαὶdrinkingπόσις,butἀλλὰrighteousnessδικαιοσύνηandκαὶpeaceεἰρήνηandκαὶjoyχαρὰin [the]ἐνSpiritπνεύματιHolyἁγίῳ·
18The [one]ὁforγὰρinἐνthese thingsτούτῳservingδουλεύωντῷChristΧριστῷ[is] well-pleasingεὐάρεστοςτῷto Godθεῷandκαὶapprovedδόκιμοςτοῖςby menἀνθρώποις.
19Soἄραthenοὖνthe thingsτὰτῆςof peaceεἰρήνηςpursueδιώκωμενandκαὶthe thingsτὰτῆςfor edificationοἰκοδομῆςτῆςamongεἰςeach otherἀλλήλους.
20Notμὴfor the sake ofἕνεκενfoodβρώματοςdestroyκατάλυεtheτὸworkἔργοντοῦof Godθεοῦ.All thingsπάνταindeed [are]μὲνcleanκαθαρά,butἀλλὰ[it is] wrongκακὸνto theτῷmanἀνθρώπῳτῷthroughδιὰa stumbling blockπροσκόμματοςeatingἐσθίοντι.
21[It is] goodκαλὸντὸneitherμὴto eatφαγεῖνmeatκρέαnorμηδὲto drinkπιεῖνwineοἶνονnor [anything]μηδὲinἐνwhichᾧtheὁbrotherἀδελφόςof youσουstumblesπροσκόπτειorἢis caused to sinσκανδαλίζεταιorἢbecomes weak.ἀσθενεῖ·
22Youσὺ[the] faithπίστινthatἣνhaveἔχειςtoκατὰyourselfσεαυτὸνkeepἔχεbeforeἐνώπιοντοῦGodθεοῦ.Blessed [is]μακάριοςthe [one]ὁnotμὴjudgingκρίνωνhimselfἑαυτὸνinἐνwhatᾧhe approvesδοκιμάζει·
23The [one]ὁhoweverδὲdoubtingδιακρινόμενοςifἐὰνhe eatsφάγῃhas been condemnedκατακέκριται,because [it is]ὅτιnotοὐκofἐκfaithπίστεως·everythingπᾶνnowδὲthat [is]ὃnotοὐκofἐκfaithπίστεωςsinἁμαρτίαisἐστίν.
