1SpeakingΛαλούντωνnowδὲof themαὐτῶνtoπρὸςtheτὸνpeopleλαὸνcameἐπέστησανupon themαὐτοῖςtheοἱpriestsἱερεῖςandκαὶtheὁcaptainστρατηγὸςof theτοῦtempleἱεροῦandκαὶtheοἱSadduceesΣαδδουκαῖοι,

2being distressedδιαπονούμενοιbecause ofδιὰτὸteachingδιδάσκεινtheirαὐτοὺςtheτὸνpeopleλαὸνandκαὶproclaimingκαταγγέλλεινinἐντῷJesusἸησοῦtheτὴνresurrectionἀνάστασιντὴνout fromἐκ[the] deadνεκρῶν,

3andκαὶthey laidἐπέβαλονon themαὐτοῖςtheτὰςhandsχεῖραςandκαὶput [them]ἔθεντοinεἰςcustodyτήρησινuntilεἰςtheτὴνnext dayαὔριον,it wasἦνforγὰρeveningἑσπέραalreadyἤδη.

4Manyπολλοὶhoweverδὲof thoseτῶνhaving heardἀκουσάντωνtheτὸνwordλόγονbelievedἐπίστευσαν,andκαὶbecameἐγενήθηtheὁnumberἀριθμὸςof theτῶνmenἀνδρῶνaboutὡςthousandχιλιάδεςfiveπέντε.

5It came to passἘγένετοthenδὲonἐπὶtheτὴνnext dayαὔριονwere gathered togetherσυναχθῆναιtheirαὐτῶντοὺςrulersἄρχονταςandκαὶτοὺςeldersπρεσβυτέρουςandκαὶτοὺςscribesγραμματεῖςinἐνJerusalemἸερουσαλήμ

6andκαὶAnnasἍνναςtheὁhigh priestἀρχιερεὺςandκαὶCaiaphasΚαϊάφαςandκαὶJohnἸωάννηςandκαὶAlexanderἈλέξανδροςandκαὶas many asὅσοιwereἦσανofἐκdescentγένουςhigh-priestlyἀρχιερατικοῦ,

7Andκαὶhaving placedστήσαντεςthemαὐτοὺςinἐνtheτῷmidstμέσῳthey began to inquireἐπυνθάνοντο·InἘνwhatποίᾳpowerδυνάμειorἢinἐνwhatποίῳnameὀνόματιdidἐποιήσατεthisτοῦτοyouὑμεῖς;

8ThenτότεPeterΠέτροςhaving been filledπλησθεὶςwith [the] SpiritπνεύματοςHolyἁγίουsaidεἶπενtoπρὸςthemαὐτούς·RulersἌρχοντεςof theτοῦpeopleλαοῦandκαὶeldersπρεσβύτεροι,

9ifεἰweἡμεῖςthis dayσήμερονare being examinedἀνακρινόμεθαas toἐπὶa good workεὐεργεσίᾳ[to the] manἀνθρώπουailingἀσθενοῦς,byἐνwhat [means]τίνιheοὗτοςhas been healedσέσωσται,

10knownγνωστὸνlet it beἔστωto allπᾶσινyouὑμῖνandκαὶto allπαντὶtheτῷpeopleλαῷof IsraelἸσραὴλthatὅτιinἐνtheτῷnameὀνόματιof JesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦofτοῦNazarethΝαζωραίου,whomὃνyouὑμεῖςcrucifiedἐσταυρώσατε,whomὃνὁGodθεὸςraisedἤγειρενout fromἐκ[the] deadνεκρῶν,inἐνHimτούτῳthis [man]οὗτοςstandsπαρέστηκενbeforeἐνώπιονyouὑμῶνsoundὑγιής.

11Thisοὗτόςisἐστινtheὁstoneλίθοςὁhaving been rejectedἐξουθενηθεὶςbyὑφ’youὑμῶνtheτῶνbuildersοἰκοδόμων,whichὁhas becomeγενόμενοςintoεἰςheadκεφαλὴνof [the] cornerγωνίας.

12Andκαὶnotοὐκthere isἔστινinἐνotherἄλλῳno oneοὐδενὶtheἡsalvationσωτηρία,notοὐδὲforγὰρnameὄνομάis thereἐστινanotherἕτερονunderὑπὸτὸνheavenοὐρανὸντὸhaving been givenδεδομένονamongἐνmenἀνθρώποιςbyἐνwhichᾧit behoovesδεῖto be savedσωθῆναιusἡμᾶς.

13SeeingΘεωροῦντεςnowδὲtheτὴντοῦof PeterΠέτρουboldnessπαρρησίανandκαὶof JohnἸωάννουandκαὶhaving understoodκαταλαβόμενοιthatὅτιmenἄνθρωποιunschooledἀγράμματοίthey areεἰσινandκαὶordinaryἰδιῶται,they were astonishedἐθαύμαζον,They recognizedἐπεγίνωσκόνthenτεthemαὐτοὺςthatὅτιwithσὺντῷJesusἸησοῦthey had beenἦσαν,

14τόνAndτεthe manἄνθρωπονbeholdingβλέποντεςwithσὺνthemαὐτοῖςstandingἑστῶτατὸνhaving been healedτεθεραπευμένονnothingοὐδὲνthey hadεἶχονto contradictἀντειπεῖν.

15Having commandedκελεύσαντεςhoweverδὲthemαὐτοὺςoutsideἔξωtheτοῦCouncilσυνεδρίουto goἀπελθεῖνthey began to conferσυνέβαλλονwithπρὸςone anotherἀλλήλους

16sayingλέγοντες·WhatΤίshall we doποιήσωμενto theτοῖςmenἀνθρώποιςtheseτούτοις;Thatὅτιtrulyμὲνforγὰρa noteworthyγνωστὸνsignσημεῖονhas come to passγέγονενthroughδι’themαὐτῶνto allπᾶσινthoseτοῖςinhabitingκατοικοῦσινJerusalemἸερουσαλὴμ[is] evidentφανερόν,andκαὶnotοὐwe are ableδυνάμεθαto deny [it]ἀρνεῖσθαι·

17Butἀλλ’thatἵναnotμὴonἐπὶfurtherπλεῖονit might spreadδιανεμηθῇamongεἰςtheτὸνpeopleλαόν,let us warnἀπειλησώμεθαthemαὐτοῖςno longerμηκέτιto speakλαλεῖνinἐπὶtheτῷnameὀνόματιthisτούτῳto noμηδενὶmanἀνθρώπων.

18Andκαὶhaving calledκαλέσαντεςthemαὐτοὺςthey commanded [them]παρήγγειλανthemτὸat allκαθόλουnotμὴto speakφθέγγεσθαιnorμηδὲto teachδιδάσκεινinἐπὶtheτῷnameὀνόματιτοῦof JesusἸησοῦ.

19ὁButδὲPeterΠέτροςandκαὶJohnἸωάννηςansweringἀποκριθέντεςsaidεἶπονtoπρὸςthemαὐτούς·WhetherΕἰrightδίκαιόνit isἐστινbeforeἐνώπιοντοῦGodθεοῦto youὑμῶνto listenἀκούεινratherμᾶλλονthanἢτοῦGodθεοῦ,you must judgeκρίνατε,

20notοὐare ableδυνάμεθαforγὰρweἡμεῖςwhatἃwe have seenεἴδαμενandκαὶheardἠκούσαμενnotμὴto speakλαλεῖν.

21οἱAndδὲhaving further threatened [them]προσαπειλησάμενοιthey let goἀπέλυσανthemαὐτούς,nothingμηδὲνfindingεὑρίσκοντεςtheτὸhowπῶςthey might punishκολάσωνταιthemαὐτούς,on account ofδιὰtheτὸνpeopleλαόν,becauseὅτιallπάντεςwere glorifyingἐδόξαζοντὸνGodθεὸνforἐπὶthatτῷhaving happenedγεγονότι·

22years [old]ἐτῶνforγὰρwasἦνmore thanπλειόνωνfortyτεσσεράκονταtheὁmanἄνθρωποςonἐφ’whomὃνhad taken placeγεγόνειtheτὸsignσημεῖονthisτοῦτοofτῆςhealingἰάσεως.

23Having been let goἈπολυθέντεςnowδὲthey cameἦλθονtoπρὸςtheτοὺςownἰδίουςandκαὶreportedἀπήγγειλανhow muchὅσαtoπρὸςthemαὐτοὺςtheοἱchief priestsἀρχιερεῖςandκαὶtheοἱeldersπρεσβύτεροιhad saidεἶπαν.

24οἱAndδὲhaving heardἀκούσαντεςwith one accordὁμοθυμαδὸνthey lifted upἦραν[their] voiceφωνὴνtoπρὸςτὸνGodθεὸνandκαὶsaidεἶπαν·Sovereign LordΔέσποτα,Youσὺὁmadeποιήσαςtheτὸνheavenοὐρανὸνandκαὶtheτὴνearthγῆνandκαὶtheτὴνseaθάλασσανandκαὶallπάνταthat [is]τὰinἐνthemαὐτοῖς,

25ὁof theτοῦfatherπατρὸςof usἡμῶνbyδιὰ[the] SpiritπνεύματοςHolyἁγίουthrough [the] mouthστόματοςDavidΔαυὶδservantπαιδόςof Youσουhaving spokenεἰπών·whyἹνατίdid rageἐφρύαξαν[the] Gentilesἔθνηandκαὶpeoplesλαοὶdid deviseἐμελέτησανvain thingsκενά;

26Took [their] standπαρέστησανtheοἱkingsβασιλεῖςof theτῆςearthγῆςandκαὶtheοἱrulersἄρχοντεςwere gatheredσυνήχθησανtogetherἐπὶτὸthemselvesαὐτὸagainstκατὰtheτοῦLordκυρίουandκαὶagainstκατὰtheτοῦChristχριστοῦof Himαὐτοῦ.

27Were gathered togetherσυνήχθησανforγὰρinἐπ’truthἀληθείαςinἐνtheτῇcityπόλειthisταύτῃagainstἐπὶtheτὸνholyἅγιονservantπαῖδάof YouσουJesusἸησοῦν,whomὃνYou anointedἔχρισας,HerodἩρῴδηςbothτεandκαὶPontiusΠόντιοςPilateΠιλᾶτοςwithσὺν[the] Gentilesἔθνεσινandκαὶpeoplesλαοῖςof IsraelἸσραήλ,

28to doποιῆσαιwhateverὅσαtheἡhandχείρof Youσουandκαὶtheἡpurposeβουλὴhad determined beforehandπροώρισενto happenγενέσθαι.

29Andκαὶτὰnowνῦν,Lordκύριε,lookἔπιδεuponἐπὶtheτὰςthreatsἀπειλὰςof themαὐτῶνandκαὶgrantδὸςto theτοῖςservantsδούλοιςof Youσουwithμετὰboldnessπαρρησίαςallπάσηςto speakλαλεῖνtheτὸνwordλόγονof Youσου,

30inἐνthatτῷtheτὴνhandχεῖράyourσουstretch outἐκτείνεινYouσεforεἰςhealingἴασινandκαὶsignsσημεῖαandκαὶwondersτέραταto take placeγίνεσθαιthroughδιὰtheτοῦnameὀνόματοςof theτοῦholyἁγίουservantπαιδόςof YouσουJesusἸησοῦ.

31Andκαὶhaving prayedδεηθέντωνtheyαὐτῶνwas shakenἐσαλεύθηtheὁplaceτόποςinἐνwhichᾧthey wereἦσανassembledσυνηγμένοι,andκαὶthey were filled withἐπλήσθησανallἅπαντεςtheτοῦHolyἁγίουSpiritπνεύματος,andκαὶwere speakingἐλάλουνtheτὸνwordλόγοντοῦof Godθεοῦwithμετὰboldnessπαρρησίας.

32ΤοῦAndδὲthe multitudeπλήθουςτῶνhaving believedπιστευσάντωνwere [in]ἦνheartκαρδίαandκαὶsoulψυχὴoneμία,andκαὶnotοὐδὲoneεἷςanythingτιof that whichτῶνpossessedὑπαρχόντωνheαὐτῷclaimedἔλεγενhis ownἴδιονto beεἶναι,butἀλλ’wereἦνto themαὐτοῖςall thingsπάνταin commonκοινά.

33Andκαὶ[with] powerδυνάμειgreatμεγάλῃwere givingἀπεδίδουντὸtestimonyμαρτύριονtheοἱapostlesἀπόστολοιof theτῆςresurrectionἀναστάσεωςof theτοῦLordκυρίουJesusἸησοῦ,graceχάριςthenτεabundantμεγάληwasἦνuponἐπὶallπάνταςthemαὐτούς.

34Not evenοὐδὲforγὰρin needἐνδεήςanyoneτιςthere wasἦνamongἐνthemαὐτοῖς·as many asὅσοιforγὰρownersκτήτορεςof landsχωρίωνorἢhousesοἰκιῶνwereὑπῆρχον,selling [them]πωλοῦντεςwere bringingἔφερονtheτὰςproceedsτιμὰςof whatτῶνis soldπιπρασκομένων

35andκαὶwere laying [them]ἐτίθουνatπαρὰtheτοὺςfeetπόδαςof theτῶνapostlesἀποστόλων·distribution was madeδιεδίδετοthenδὲto eachἑκάστῳjust asκαθότιἄνanyoneτιςneedχρείανhadεἶχεν.

36JosephἸωσὴφnowδὲὁhaving been calledἐπικληθεὶςBarnabasΒαρναβᾶςbyἀπὸtheτῶνapostlesἀποστόλων,whichὅisἐστινtranslatedμεθερμηνευόμενονSonυἱὸςof encouragementπαρακλήσεως,a LeviteΛευίτης,a CypriotΚύπριοςat theτῷbirthγένει,

37ownsὑπάρχοντοςby himαὐτῷa fieldἀγροῦhaving sold [it]πωλήσαςbroughtἤνεγκενtheτὸmoneyχρῆμαandκαὶlaid [it]ἔθηκενatπαρὰtheτοὺςfeetπόδαςof theτῶνapostlesἀποστόλων.
