1AndκαὶHe was sayingἔλεγενto themαὐτοῖς·TrulyἈμὴνI sayλέγωto youὑμῖνthatὅτιthere areεἰσίνsomeτινεςof thoseτῶνhereὧδεstandingἑστηκότωνwhoοἵτινεςnoοὐnotμὴshall tasteγεύσωνταιof deathθανάτουuntilἕωςἂνthey seeἴδωσινtheτὴνkingdomβασιλείαντοῦof Godθεοῦhaving comeἐληλυθυῖανwithἐνpowerδυνάμει.
2AndΚαὶafterμετὰdaysἡμέραςsixἓξtakes alongπαραλαμβάνειὁJesusἸησοῦςτὸνPeterΠέτρονandκαὶτὸνJamesἸάκωβονandκαὶJohnἸωάννην,andκαὶbrings upἀναφέρειthemαὐτοὺςintoεἰςa mountainὄροςhighὑψηλὸνapartκατ’themselvesἰδίανaloneμόνους.AndκαὶHe was transfiguredμετεμορφώθηbeforeἔμπροσθενthemαὐτῶν,
3andκαὶtheτὰgarmentsἱμάτιαof Himαὐτοῦbecameἐγένετοshiningστίλβονταwhiteλευκὰexceedinglyλίανsuch asοἷαa laundererγναφεὺςonἐπὶtheτῆςearthγῆςnotοὐis ableδύναταιthusοὕτωςto whitenλευκᾶναι.
4Andκαὶappearedὤφθηto themαὐτοῖςElijahἨλίαςwithσὺνMosesΜωϋσεῖ,andκαὶthey wereἦσανtalking withσυλλαλοῦντεςτῷJesusἸησοῦ.
5AndκαὶansweringἀποκριθεὶςὁPeterΠέτροςsaysλέγειτῷto JesusἸησοῦ·RabbiῬαββί,goodκαλόνit isἐστινfor usἡμᾶςhereὧδεto beεἶναι,Andκαὶlet us makeποιήσωμενthreeτρεῖςtabernaclesσκηνάς,for Youσοὶoneμίανandκαὶfor MosesΜωϋσεῖoneμίανandκαὶElijahἨλίᾳoneμίαν.
6Notοὐforγὰρhe knewᾔδειwhatτίhe should sayἀποκριθῇ,terrifiedἔκφοβοιforγὰρthey wereἐγένοντο.
7Andκαὶthere cameἐγένετοa cloudνεφέληovershadowingἐπισκιάζουσαthemαὐτοῖς,andκαὶthere cameἐγένετοa voiceφωνὴout ofἐκtheτῆςcloudνεφέλης·ThisΟὗτόςisἐστινtheὁSonυἱόςof Meμουtheὁbelovedἀγαπητός,listen youἀκούετεto Himαὐτοῦ.
8Andκαὶsuddenlyἐξάπιναhaving looked aroundπεριβλεψάμενοιno longerοὐκέτιno oneοὐδέναthey sawεἶδονexceptἀλλὰτὸνJesusἸησοῦνaloneμόνονwithμεθ’themἑαυτῶν.
9AndΚαὶdescendingκαταβαινόντωνof themαὐτῶνfromἐκtheτοῦmountainὄρουςHe instructedδιεστείλατοthemαὐτοῖςthatἵναto no oneμηδενὶwhatἃthey had seenεἶδονthey should tellδιηγήσωνται,ifεἰnotμὴuntilὅτανtheὁSonυἱὸςτοῦof Manἀνθρώπουout fromἐκ[the] deadνεκρῶνhad risenἀναστῇ.
10Andκαὶthatτὸνsayingλόγονthey keptἐκράτησανamongπρὸςthemselvesἑαυτοὺςquestioningσυζητοῦντεςwhatτίit isἐστιντὸout fromἐκthe deadνεκρῶνto riseἀναστῆναι.
11Andκαὶthey were askingἐπηρώτωνHimαὐτὸνsayingλέγοντες·ὍτιSayλέγουσινtheοἱscribesγραμματεῖςthatὅτιElijahἨλίανit behoovesδεῖto comeἐλθεῖνfirstπρῶτον;
12ὁAndδὲHe was sayingἔφηto themαὐτοῖς·ElijahἨλίαςindeedμὲνhaving comeἐλθὼνfirstπρῶτονrestoresἀποκαθιστάνειall thingsπάντα,andκαὶhowπῶςhas it been writtenγέγραπταιofἐπὶtheτὸνSonυἱὸντοῦof Manἀνθρώπουthatἵναmany thingsπολλὰHe should sufferπάθῃandκαὶbe set at naughtἐξουδενηθῇ;
13ButἀλλὰI sayλέγωto youὑμῖνthatὅτιalsoκαὶElijahἨλίαςhas comeἐλήλυθεν,andκαὶthey didἐποίησανto himαὐτῷwhateverὅσαthey desiredἤθελον,asκαθὼςit has been writtenγέγραπταιofἐπ’himαὐτόν.
14AndΚαὶhaving comeἐλθόντεςtoπρὸςtheτοὺςdisciplesμαθητὰςthey sawεἶδονa crowdὄχλονgreatπολὺνaroundπερὶthemαὐτοὺςandκαὶscribesγραμματεῖςarguingσυζητοῦνταςwithπρὸςthemαὐτούς.
15Andκαὶimmediatelyεὐθὺςallπᾶςtheὁcrowdὄχλοςhaving seenἰδόντεςHimαὐτὸνwere greatly amazedἐξεθαμβήθησαν,andκαὶrunning to [Him]προστρέχοντεςwere greetingἠσπάζοντοHimαὐτόν.
16AndκαὶHe askedἐπηρώτησενthemαὐτούς·WhatΤίare you disputingσυζητεῖτεwithπρὸςthemαὑτούς;
17AndκαὶansweredἀπεκρίθηHimαὐτῷoneεἷςout ofἐκtheτοῦcrowdὄχλου·TeacherΔιδάσκαλε,I broughtἤνεγκαtheτὸνsonυἱόνof meμουtoπρὸςYouσέ,havingἔχονταa spiritπνεῦμαmuteἄλαλον·
18andκαὶwheneverὅπουifἐὰνhimαὐτὸνit seizesκαταλάβῃit throws downῥήσσειhimαὐτόν,andκαὶhe foamsἀφρίζειandκαὶgnashesτρίζειτοὺςhis teethὀδόνταςandκαὶis withering awayξηραίνεται·AndκαὶI spokeεἶπαto theτοῖςdisciplesμαθηταῖςof Youσουthatἵναitαὐτὸthey might cast outἐκβάλωσιν,andκαὶnotοὐκthey had powerἴσχυσαν.
19ὁAndδὲansweringἀποκριθεὶςhimαὐτοῖςHe saysλέγει·OὮgenerationγενεὰunbelievingἄπιστος,Untilἕωςwhenπότεwithπρὸςyouὑμᾶςwill I beἔσομαι;Untilἕωςwhenπότεwill I bear withἀνέξομαιyouὑμῶν;BringφέρετεhimαὐτὸνtoπρόςMeμε.
20Andκαὶthey broughtἤνεγκανhimαὐτὸνtoπρὸςHimαὐτόν.Andκαὶhaving seenἰδὼνHimαὐτὸνtheτὸspiritπνεῦμαimmediatelyεὐθὺςthrew into convulsionsσυνεσπάραξενhimαὐτόν,andκαὶhaving fallenπεσὼνuponἐπὶtheτῆςgroundγῆςhe began rolling aroundἐκυλίετοfoamingἀφρίζων.
21AndκαὶHe askedἐπηρώτησενtheτὸνfatherπατέραof himαὐτοῦ·How longΠόσοςa timeχρόνοςis itἐστὶνthatὡςthisτοῦτοhas beenγέγονενwith himαὐτῷ;ὁAndδὲhe saidεἶπεν·FromἘκchildhoodπαιδιόθεν·
22Andκαὶoftenπολλάκιςbothκαὶintoεἰςfireπῦρhimαὐτὸνit castsἔβαλενandκαὶintoεἰςwatersὕδαταthatἵναit might destroyἀπολέσῃhimαὐτόν·Butἀλλ’ifεἴanythingτιYou are able [to do]δύνῃ,helpβοήθησονusἡμῖνhaving compassionσπλαγχνισθεὶςonἐφ’usἡμᾶς.
23ὁAndδὲJesusἸησοῦςsaidεἶπενto himαὐτῷ·ΤὸIfΕἰYou are ableδύνῃ,All thingsπάνταare possibleδυνατὰto the [one]τῷbelievingπιστεύοντι.
24Immediatelyεὐθὺςhaving cried outκράξαςtheὁfatherπατὴρof theτοῦchildπαιδίουwas sayingἔλεγεν·I believeΠιστεύω·helpβοήθειof meμουtheτῇunbeliefἀπιστίᾳ.
25Having seenἰδὼνnowδὲὁJesusἸησοῦςthatὅτιwas running togetherἐπισυντρέχειa crowdὄχλοςHe rebukedἐπετίμησενtheτῷspiritπνεύματιτῷuncleanἀκαθάρτῳsayingλέγωνto itαὐτῷ·ΤὸMuteἄλαλονandκαὶdeafκωφὸνspiritπνεῦμα,Iἐγὼcommandἐπιτάσσωyouσοι,comeἔξελθεout ofἐξhimαὐτοῦandκαὶno moreμηκέτιmay you enterεἰσέλθῃςintoεἰςhimαὐτόν.
26Andκαὶhaving cried outκράξαςandκαὶmuchπολλὰhaving thrown him into convulsionsσπαράξαςit came outἐξῆλθεν·andκαὶhe becameἐγένετοas ifὡσεὶdeadνεκρὸςin order forὥστετοὺςmanyπολλοὺςto sayλέγεινthatὅτιhe was deadἀπέθανεν.
27ὁAndδὲJesusἸησοῦςhaving takenκρατήσαςby theτῆςhandχειρὸςhimαὐτοῦraised upἤγειρενhimαὐτόν,andκαὶhe aroseἀνέστη.
28Andκαὶhaving enteredεἰσελθόντοςHeαὐτοῦintoεἰςa houseοἶκονtheοἱdisciplesμαθηταὶof Himαὐτοῦinκατ’privateἰδίανwere askingἐπηρώτωνHimαὐτόν·WhyὍτιweἡμεῖςnotοὐκwere ableἠδυνήθημενto cast outἐκβαλεῖνitαὐτό;
29AndκαὶHe saidεἶπενto themαὐτοῖς·ThisΤοῦτοτὸkindγένοςbyἐνnothingοὐδενὶis ableδύναταιto go outἐξελθεῖνifεἰnotμὴbyἐνprayerπροσευχῇ.
30From thereΚἀκεῖθενhaving gone forthἐξελθόντεςthey were passingπαρεπορεύοντοthroughδιὰτῆςGalileeΓαλιλαίας,andκαὶnotοὐκdid He wantἤθελενthatἵναanyoneτιςshould know [it]γνοῖ·
31He was teachingἐδίδασκενforγὰρtheτοὺςdisciplesμαθητὰςof HimαὐτοῦandκαὶHe was sayingἔλεγενto themαὐτοῖςὅτιTheὉSonυἱὸςτοῦof Manἀνθρώπουis deliveredπαραδίδοταιinto [the]εἰςhandsχεῖραςof menἀνθρώπων,andκαὶthey will killἀποκτενοῦσινHimαὐτόν,andκαὶhaving been killedἀποκτανθεὶςon theμετὰthirdτρεῖςdayἡμέραςHe will ariseἀναστήσεται.
32οἱAndδὲthey did not understandἠγνόουνtheτὸsayingῥῆμα,andκαὶthey were afraidἐφοβοῦντοHimαὐτὸνto askἐπερωτῆσαι.
33AndΚαὶthey cameἦλθονtoεἰςCapernaumΚαφαρναούμ.Andκαὶinἐνtheτῇhouseοἰκίᾳhaving beenγενόμενοςHe was askingἐπηρώταthemαὐτούς·WhatΤίonἐνtheτῇwayὁδῷwere you discussingδιελογίζεσθε;
34οἱAndδὲthey were silentἐσιώπων,withπρὸςone anotherἀλλήλουςforγὰρthey had been discussingδιελέχθησανalongἐνtheτῇroadὁδῷwhich [was]τίςgreatestμείζων.
35Andκαὶhaving sat downκαθίσαςHe calledἐφώνησενtheτοὺςTwelveδώδεκαandκαὶHe saysλέγειto themαὐτοῖς·IfΕἴanyoneτιςdesiresθέλειfirstπρῶτοςto beεἶναιhe will beἔσταιof allπάντωνlastἔσχατοςandκαὶof allπάντωνservantδιάκονος.
36Andκαὶhaving takenλαβὼνa childπαιδίονHe setἔστησενitαὐτὸinἐνmidstμέσῳof themαὐτῶνandκαὶhaving taken in [His] armsἐναγκαλισάμενοςitαὐτὸHe saidεἶπενto themαὐτοῖς·
37WhoeverὋςἂνoneἓντῶνof suchτοιούτωνlittle childrenπαιδίωνshall receiveδέξηταιinἐπὶtheτῷnameὀνόματίof Meμου,Meἐμὲreceivesδέχεται·andκαὶwhoeverὃςἂνMeἐμὲshall receiveδέχηται,notοὐκMeἐμὲreceivesδέχεταιbutἀλλὰthe [One]τὸνhaving sentἀποστείλαντάMeμε.
38AnsweredἜφηHimαὐτῷὁJohnἸωάννης·TeacherΔιδάσκαλε,we sawεἴδομένsomeoneτιναinἐνtheτῷnameὀνόματίof Youσουcasting outἐκβάλλονταdemonsδαιμόνια,andκαὶwe were forbiddingἐκωλύομενhimαὐτόν,becauseὅτιnotοὐκhe was followingἠκολούθειusἡμῖν.
39ὁAndδὲJesusἸησοῦςsaidεἶπεν·NotΜὴforbidκωλύετεhimαὐτόν,No oneοὐδεὶςforγάρthere isἐστινwhoὃςwill doποιήσειa work of powerδύναμινinἐπὶtheτῷnameὀνόματίof Meμουandκαὶwill be ableδυνήσεταιreadilyταχὺto speak evil ofκακολογῆσαίMeμε·
40Whoeverὃςforγὰρnotοὐκisἔστινagainstκαθ’usἡμῶν,forὑπὲρusἡμῶνisἐστιν.
41WhoeverὋςforγὰρἂνmight give to drinkποτίσῃyouὑμᾶςa cupποτήριονof waterὕδατοςinἐνnameὀνόματιbecauseὅτιChrist’sχριστοῦyou areἐστε,trulyἀμὴνI sayλέγωto youὑμῖνthatὅτιnoοὐnotμὴshall he loseἀπολέσῃtheτὸνrewardμισθὸνof himαὐτοῦ.
42AndΚαὶwhoeverὃςἂνmight cause to stumbleσκανδαλίσῃoneἕναof theτῶνlittle onesμικρῶνtheseτούτωντῶνbelievingπιστευόντωνinεἰςmeἐμέ,betterκαλόνit isἐστινfor himαὐτῷratherμᾶλλονifεἰis putπερίκειταιa millstoneμύλοςheavyὀνικὸςaroundπερὶtheτὸνneckτράχηλονof himαὐτοῦandκαὶhe has been castβέβληταιintoεἰςtheτὴνseaθάλασσαν.
43AndΚαὶifἐὰνcauses ~ tosinσκανδαλίζῃyouσεtheἡhandχείρof youσου,cut offἀπόκοψονitαὐτήν·betterκαλόνit isἐστίνfor youσεcrippledκυλλὸνto enterεἰσελθεῖνintoεἰςτὴνlifeζωὴνthanἢτὰςtwoδύοhandsχεῖραςhavingἔχονταto go awayἀπελθεῖνintoεἰςτὴνhellγέενναν,intoεἰςtheτὸfireπῦρτὸunquenchableἄσβεστον.
45Andκαὶifἐὰνtheὁfootπούςof youσουshould cause to stumbleσκανδαλίζῃyouσε,cut offἀπόκοψονitαὐτόν·betterκαλόνit isἐστίνfor youσεto enterεἰσελθεῖνintoεἰςτὴνlifeζωὴνlameχωλὸνthanἢtheτοὺςtwoδύοfeetπόδαςhavingἔχονταto be castβληθῆναιintoεἰςτὴνhellγέενναν.
47Andκαὶifἐὰνtheὁeyeὀφθαλμόςof youσουshould cause to stumbleσκανδαλίζῃyouσε,cast outἔκβαλεitαὐτόν·betterκαλόνfor youσέit isἐστινwith one eyeμονόφθαλμονto enterεἰσελθεῖνintoεἰςtheτὴνkingdomβασιλείαντοῦof Godθεοῦthanἢtwoδύοeyesὀφθαλμοὺςhavingἔχονταto be castβληθῆναιintoεἰςτὴνhellγέενναν,
48whereὅπουtheὁwormσκώληξof themαὐτῶνnotοὐdiesτελευτᾷandκαὶtheτὸfireπῦρnotοὐis quenchedσβέννυται.
49EveryoneΠᾶςforγὰρwith fireπυρὶwill be saltedἁλισθήσεται.
50Good [is]καλὸνtheτὸsaltἅλας·ifἐὰνhoweverδὲtheτὸsaltἅλαςunsaltyἄναλονbecomesγένηται,withἐνwhatτίνιitαὐτὸwill you seasonἀρτύσετε;Haveἔχετεinἐνyourselvesἑαυτοῖςsaltἅλα,andκαὶbe at peaceεἰρηνεύετεwithἐνone anotherἀλλήλοις.
