Matthew 24
1AndΚαὶhaving gone forthἐξελθὼνὁJesusἸησοῦςfromἀπὸtheτοῦtempleἱεροῦHe was going awayἐπορεύετο,andκαὶcame to [Him]προσῆλθονtheοἱdisciplesμαθηταὶof Himαὐτοῦto point outἐπιδεῖξαιto Himαὐτῷtheτὰςbuildingsοἰκοδομὰςof theτοῦtempleἱεροῦ·
2ὁAndδὲansweringἀποκριθεὶςHe saidεἶπενto themαὐτοῖς·NotΟὐdo you seeβλέπετεthese thingsταῦταallπάντα;TrulyἀμὴνI sayλέγωto youὑμῖν,noneοὐnot evenμὴshall be leftἀφεθῇhereὧδεstoneλίθοςuponἐπὶstoneλίθονwhichὃςnotοὐwill be thrown downκαταλυθήσεται.
3[As] was sittingΚαθημένουnowδὲHeαὐτοῦuponἐπὶtheτοῦMountὌρουςτῶνof OlivesἘλαιῶνcame toπροσῆλθονHimαὐτῷtheοἱdisciplesμαθηταὶinκατ’privateἰδίανsayingλέγοντες·TellΕἰπὸνusἡμῖνwhenπότεthese thingsταῦταwill beἔσται,Andκαὶwhat [is]τίtheτὸsignσημεῖοντῆςof Yourσῆςcomingπαρουσίαςandκαὶof the consummationσυντελείαςof theτοῦageαἰῶνος.
4AndκαὶansweringἀποκριθεὶςὁJesusἸησοῦςsaidεἶπενto themαὐτοῖς·Take heedΒλέπετεlestμήanyoneτιςyouὑμᾶςmisleadπλανήσῃ·
5Manyπολλοὶforγὰρwill comeἐλεύσονταιinἐπὶtheτῷnameὀνόματίof Meμουsayingλέγοντες·IἘγώamεἰμιtheὁChristχριστός,andκαὶmanyπολλοὺςthey will misleadπλανήσουσιν.
6You will beginμελλήσετεthenδὲto hear ofἀκούεινwarsπολέμουςandκαὶrumorsἀκοὰςof warsπολέμων·Beholdὁρᾶτε,notμὴbe alarmedθροεῖσθε·it is necessaryδεῖforγὰρto take placeγενέσθαι,butἀλλ’not yetοὔπωisἐστὶνtheτὸendτέλος.
7Will rise upἐγερθήσεταιforγὰρnationἔθνοςagainstἐπὶnationἔθνοςandκαὶkingdomβασιλείαagainstἐπὶkingdomβασιλείαν,andκαὶthere will beἔσονταιfaminesλιμοὶandκαὶearthquakesσεισμοὶinκατὰ[various] placesτόπους·
8Allπάνταthenδὲthese [are]ταῦτα[the] beginningἀρχὴof birth painsὠδίνων.
9ThenΤότεwill they deliverπαραδώσουσινyouὑμᾶςtoεἰςtribulationθλῖψινandκαὶwill killἀποκτενοῦσινyouὑμᾶς,andκαὶyou will beἔσεσθεhatedμισούμενοιbyὑπὸallπάντωνtheτῶνnationsἐθνῶνon account ofδιὰtheτὸnameὄνομάof Meμου.
10Andκαὶthenτότεwill fall awayσκανδαλισθήσονταιmanyπολλοὶandκαὶone anotherἀλλήλουςthey will betrayπαραδώσουσινandκαὶwill hateμισήσουσινone anotherἀλλήλους·
11andκαὶmanyπολλοὶfalse prophetsψευδοπροφῆταιwill ariseἐγερθήσονταιandκαὶwill misleadπλανήσουσινmanyπολλούς·
12Andκαὶbecauseδιὰτὸis to be multipliedπληθυνθῆναιτὴνlawlessnessἀνομίανwill grow coldψυγήσεταιtheἡloveἀγάπηof theτῶνmanyπολλῶν.
13The [one]ὁhoweverδὲhaving enduredὑπομείναςto [the]εἰςendτέλοςheοὗτοςwill be savedσωθήσεται.
14Andκαὶthere will be proclaimedκηρυχθήσεταιthisτοῦτοτὸgospelεὐαγγέλιονof theτῆςkingdomβασιλείαςinἐνallὅλῃtheτῇearthοἰκουμένῃforεἰςa testimonyμαρτύριονto allπᾶσινtheτοῖςnationsἔθνεσιν,andκαὶthenτότεwill comeἥξειtheτὸendτέλος.
15WhenὍτανthereforeοὖνyou shall seeἴδητεtheτὸabominationβδέλυγματῆςof desolationἐρημώσεωςτὸhaving been spoken ofῥηθὲνbyδιὰDanielΔανιὴλtheτοῦprophetπροφήτουstandingἑστὸςin [the]ἐνplaceτόπῳholyἁγίῳ,the [one]ὁreadingἀναγινώσκωνlet him understandνοείτω,
16thenτότεthoseοἱinἐντῇJudeaἸουδαίᾳlet them fleeφευγέτωσανtoἐπὶtheτὰmountainsὄρη,
17the [one]ὁonἐπὶtheτοῦhousetopδώματοςnotμὴlet him come downκαταβάτωto takeἆραιanythingτὰout ofἐκtheτῆςhouseοἰκίαςof himαὐτοῦ,
18andκαὶthe [one]ὁinἐνtheτῷfieldἀγρῷneitherμὴlet him returnἐπιστρεψάτωbackὀπίσωto takeἆραιtheτὸcloakἱμάτιονof himαὐτοῦ.
19Woeοὐαὶthenδὲto thoseταῖςinἐνwombγαστρὶhavingἐχούσαιςandκαὶto the [ones]ταῖςnursing infantsθηλαζούσαιςinἐνthoseἐκείναιςtheταῖςdaysἡμέραις.
20Prayπροσεύχεσθεhoweverδὲthatἵναnotμὴmight beγένηταιtheἡflightφυγὴof youὑμῶνin winterχειμῶνοςnorμηδὲon a Sabbathσαββάτῳ·
21There will beἔσταιforγὰρthenτότεtribulationθλῖψιςgreatμεγάληsuch asοἵαnotοὐhas beenγέγονενfrom [the]ἀπ’beginningἀρχῆςof [the] worldκόσμουuntilἕωςτοῦnowνῦνnoοὐδ’neverοὐnotμὴshall beγένηται.
22Andκαὶifεἰnotμὴhad been shortenedἐκολοβώθησανtheαἱdaysἡμέραιthoseἐκεῖναι,notοὐκἂνthere would have been savedἐσώθηanyπᾶσαfleshσάρξ·because ofδιὰhoweverδὲtheτοὺςelectἐκλεκτοὺςwill be shortenedκολοβωθήσονταιtheαἱdaysἡμέραιthoseἐκεῖναι.
23Thenτότεifἐάνanyoneτιςto youὑμῖνsaysεἴπῃ·BeholdἸδοὺhere [is]ὧδεtheὁChristχριστός,orἤ·HereὯδε,notμὴbelieve [it]πιστεύσητε·
24There will ariseἐγερθήσονταιforγὰρfalse Christsψευδόχριστοιandκαὶfalse prophetsψευδοπροφῆται,andκαὶthey will giveδώσουσινsignsσημεῖαgreatμεγάλαandκαὶwondersτέραταso asὥστεto misleadπλανῆσαιifεἰpossibleδυνατὸνevenκαὶtheτοὺςelectἐκλεκτούς·
25BeholdἰδοὺI have foretold [it]προείρηκαto youὑμῖν.
26Ifἐὰνthereforeοὖνthey sayεἴπωσινto youὑμῖν·BeholdἸδοὺinἐνtheτῇwildernessἐρήμῳHe isἐστίν,notμὴgo forthἐξέλθητε·[or] ‘BeholdἸδοὺinἐνtheτοῖςinner roomsταμείοις,notμὴbelieve [it]πιστεύσητε·
27Just asὥσπερforγὰρtheἡlightningἀστραπὴcomes forthἐξέρχεταιfrom [the]ἀπὸeastἀνατολῶνandκαὶshinesφαίνεταιas far as [the]ἕωςwestδυσμῶν,soοὕτωςwill beἔσταιtheἡcomingπαρουσίαof theτοῦSonυἱοῦτοῦof Manἀνθρώπου·
28For whereverὅπουifἐὰνmay beᾖtheτὸcarcassπτῶμα,thereἐκεῖwill be gatheredσυναχθήσονταιtheοἱvulturesἀετοί.
29ImmediatelyΕὐθέωςthenδὲafterμετὰtheτὴνtribulationθλῖψινtheτῶνdaysἡμερῶνof thoseἐκείνωνTheὁsunἥλιοςwill be darkenedσκοτισθήσεται,andκαὶtheἡmoonσελήνηnotοὐwill giveδώσειtheτὸlightφέγγοςof itαὐτῆς,andκαὶtheοἱstarsἀστέρεςwill fallπεσοῦνταιfromἀπὸtheτοῦskyοὐρανοῦ,andκαὶtheαἱpowersδυνάμειςof theτῶνheavensοὐρανῶνwill be shakenσαλευθήσονται.
30Andκαὶthenτότεwill appearφανήσεταιtheτὸsignσημεῖονof theτοῦSonυἱοῦτοῦof Manἀνθρώπουinἐνtheτῷheavenοὐρανῷ,andκαὶthenτότεwill mournκόψονταιallπᾶσαιtheαἱtribesφυλαὶof theτῆςearthγῆςandκαὶthey will seeὄψονταιtheτὸνSonυἱὸντοῦof Manἀνθρώπουcomingἐρχόμενονonἐπὶtheτῶνcloudsνεφελῶντοῦof heavenοὐρανοῦwithμετὰpowerδυνάμεωςandκαὶgloryδόξηςgreatπολλῆς·
31AndκαὶHe will sendἀποστελεῖtheτοὺςangelsἀγγέλουςof Himαὐτοῦwithμετὰa trumpet callσάλπιγγοςgreatμεγάλης,andκαὶthey will gather togetherἐπισυνάξουσινtheτοὺςelectἐκλεκτοὺςof Himαὐτοῦfromἐκtheτῶνfourτεσσάρωνwindsἀνέμωνfromἀπ’[the] endsἄκρωνof the heavensοὐρανῶνtoἕωςtheτῶνendsἄκρωνof themαὐτῶν.
32OfἈπὸnowδὲtheτῆςfig treeσυκῆςlearnμάθετεtheτὴνparableπαραβολήν·Whenὅτανalreadyἤδηtheὁbranchκλάδοςof itαὐτῆςmay have becomeγένηταιtenderἁπαλὸςandκαὶtheτὰleavesφύλλαit puts forthἐκφύῃ,you knowγινώσκετεthatὅτιnear [is]ἐγγὺςtheτὸsummerθέρος·
33Thusοὕτωςalsoκαὶyouὑμεῖς,whenὅτανyou seeἴδητεallπάνταthese thingsταῦτα,knowγινώσκετεthatὅτιnearἐγγύςHe isἐστινatἐπὶ[the] doorsθύραις.
34TrulyἀμὴνI sayλέγωto youὑμῖνthatὅτιnoοὐnotμὴwill have passed awayπαρέλθῃtheἡgenerationγενεὰthisαὕτηuntilἕωςἂνallπάνταthese thingsταῦταshall have taken placeγένηται.
35Theὁheavenοὐρανὸςandκαὶtheἡearthγῆwill pass awayπαρελεύσεται,οἱbutδὲthe wordsλόγοιof Meμουnoοὐnotμὴshall pass awayπαρέλθωσιν.
36ConcerningΠερὶhoweverδὲtheτῆςdayἡμέραςthatἐκείνηςandκαὶhourὥραςno oneοὐδεὶςknowsοἶδεν,not evenοὐδὲtheοἱangelsἄγγελοιof theτῶνheavensοὐρανῶνnorοὐδὲtheὁSonυἱός,ifεἰnotμὴtheὁFatherπατὴρonlyμόνος.
37As [were]ὥσπερforγὰρtheαἱdaysἡμέραιτοῦof NoahΝῶε,soοὕτωςwill beἔσταιtheἡcomingπαρουσίαof theτοῦSonυἱοῦτοῦof Manἀνθρώπου·
38Asὡςforγὰρthey wereἦσανinἐνtheταῖςdaysἡμέραιςταῖςbeforeπρὸtheτοῦfloodκατακλυσμοῦeatingτρώγοντεςandκαὶdrinkingπίνοντες,marryingγαμοῦντεςandκαὶgiving in marriageγαμίζοντες,untilἄχριthatἧςdayἡμέραςenteredεἰσῆλθενNoahΝῶεintoεἰςtheτὴνarkκιβωτόν,
39Andκαὶnotοὐκthey knewἔγνωσανuntilἕωςcameἦλθενtheὁfloodκατακλυσμὸςandκαὶtook awayἦρενallἅπαντας,thusοὕτωςwill beἔσταιalsoκαὶtheἡcomingπαρουσίαof theτοῦSonυἱοῦτοῦof Manἀνθρώπου.
40Thenτότεtwoδύοwill beἔσονταιinἐνtheτῷfieldἀγρῷ,oneεἷςis takenπαραλαμβάνεταιandκαὶoneεἷςis leftἀφίεται·
41Two [women]δύοwill be grindingἀλήθουσαιatἐνtheτῷmillμύλῳ,oneμίαis takenπαραλαμβάνεταιandκαὶoneμίαis leftἀφίεται.
42Keep watchγρηγορεῖτεthereforeοὖν,forὅτιnotοὐκyou knowοἴδατεon whatποίᾳdayἡμέρᾳtheὁLordκύριοςof youὑμῶνcomesἔρχεται.
43Thisἐκεῖνοthenδὲknowγινώσκετεthatὅτιifεἰhad knownᾔδειtheὁmaster of the houseοἰκοδεσπότηςin whatποίᾳtime of nightφυλακῇtheὁthiefκλέπτηςcomesἔρχεται,he would have watchedἐγρηγόρησενἂνandκαὶnotοὐκἂνhave allowedεἴασενto be broken intoδιορυχθῆναιtheτὴνhouseοἰκίανof himαὐτοῦ.
44Because ofδιὰthisτοῦτοalsoκαὶyouὑμεῖςbeγίνεσθεreadyἕτοιμοι,forὅτιin thatᾗnotοὐyou expectδοκεῖτεhourὥρᾳtheὁSonυἱὸςτοῦof Manἀνθρώπουcomesἔρχεται.
45WhoΤίςthenἄραisἐστὶνtheὁfaithfulπιστὸςservantδοῦλοςandκαὶwiseφρόνιμοςwhomὃνhas setκατέστησενtheὁmasterκύριοςoverἐπὶtheτῆςhouseholdοἰκετείαςof himαὐτοῦτοῦto giveδοῦναιto themαὐτοῖςtheτὴνfoodτροφὴνinἐνseasonκαιρῷ;
46Blessed [is]μακάριοςtheὁservantδοῦλοςthatἐκεῖνοςwhomὃνhaving comeἐλθὼνtheὁmasterκύριοςof himαὐτοῦwill findεὑρήσειthusοὕτωςdoingποιοῦντα·
47TrulyἀμὴνI sayλέγωto youὑμῖνthatὅτιoverἐπὶallπᾶσινtheτοῖςpossessingὑπάρχουσινof himαὐτοῦhe will setκαταστήσειhimαὐτόν.
48Ifἐὰνhoweverδὲshould sayεἴπῃtheὁevilκακὸςservantδοῦλοςthatἐκεῖνοςinἐνtheτῇheartκαρδίᾳof himαὐτοῦ·DelaysΧρονίζειof Meμουtheὁmasterκύριος,
49andκαὶshould beginἄρξηταιto beatτύπτεινtheτοὺςfellow servantsσυνδούλουςof himαὐτοῦ,to eatἐσθίῃthenδὲandκαὶto drinkπίνῃwithμετὰthoseτῶνbeing drunkardsμεθυόντων,
50will comeἥξειtheὁmasterκύριοςtheτοῦservantδούλουof thatἐκείνουinἐνa dayἡμέρᾳin whichᾗnotοὐhe does expectπροσδοκᾷandκαὶinἐνan hourὥρᾳwhichᾗnotοὐhe is awareγινώσκει,
51andκαὶwill cut in piecesδιχοτομήσειhimαὐτὸνandκαὶtheτὸplaceμέροςof himαὐτοῦwithμετὰtheτῶνhypocritesὑποκριτῶνwill appointθήσει·thereἐκεῖwill beἔσταιtheὁweepingκλαυθμὸςandκαὶtheὁgnashingβρυγμὸςofτῶνteethὀδόντων.
