Revelation 1
1[The] revelationἈποκάλυψιςof JesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦ,whichἣνgaveἔδωκενHimαὐτῷὁGodθεὸςto showδεῖξαιto theτοῖςbond-servantsδούλοιςof Himαὐτοῦ,what thingsἃit behoovesδεῖto take placeγενέσθαιinἐνquicknessτάχει,AndκαὶHe signified [it]ἐσήμανενhaving sentἀποστείλαςthroughδιὰtheτοῦangelἀγγέλουof Himαὐτοῦto theτῷservantδούλῳof HimαὐτοῦJohnἸωάννῃ,
2whoὃςtestifiedἐμαρτύρησενto theτὸνwordλόγοντοῦof Godθεοῦandκαὶto theτὴνtestimonyμαρτυρίανof JesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦ,as much asὅσαhe sawεἶδεν.
3Blessed [is]μακάριοςthe [one]ὁreadingἀναγινώσκωνandκαὶthoseοἱhearingἀκούοντεςtheτοὺςwordsλόγουςof theτῆςprophecyπροφητείαςandκαὶkeepingτηροῦντεςthe thingsτὰinἐνitαὐτῇhaving been writtenγεγραμμένα,ὁforγὰρthe time [is]καιρὸςnearἐγγύς.
4JohnἸωάννηςTo theταῖςsevenἑπτὰchurchesἐκκλησίαιςταῖςinἐντῇAsiaἈσίᾳ·Graceχάριςto youὑμῖνandκαὶpeaceεἰρήνηfromἀπὸHimὁbeingὢνandκαὶwhoὁwasἦνandκαὶwhoὁis comingἐρχόμενος,andκαὶfromἀπὸtheτῶνsevenἑπτὰSpiritsπνευμάτωνἃbeforeἐνώπιονtheτοῦthroneθρόνουof Himαὐτοῦ,
5andκαὶfromἀπὸJesusἸησοῦChristΧριστοῦ,theὁwitnessμάρτυςὁfaithfulπιστός,theὁfirstbornπρωτότοκοςof theτῶνdeadνεκρῶνandκαὶtheὁrulerἄρχωνof theτῶνkingsβασιλέωνof theτῆςearthγῆς.To the [One]Τῷlovingἀγαπῶντιusἡμᾶςandκαὶreleasingλύσαντιusἡμᾶςfromἐκtheτῶνsinsἁμαρτιῶνof usἡμῶνthroughἐνtheτῷbloodαἵματιof Himαὐτοῦ—
6andκαὶHe has madeἐποίησενusἡμᾶςa kingdomβασιλείαν,priestsἱερεῖςto theτῷGodθεῷandκαὶFatherπατρὶof Himαὐτοῦ—to Him [be]αὐτῷtheἡgloryδόξαandκαὶtheτὸdominionκράτοςtoεἰςtheτοὺςagesαἰῶναςof theτῶνagesαἰώνων·Amenἀμήν.
7BeholdἸδοὺHe is comingἔρχεταιwithμετὰtheτῶνcloudsνεφελῶν,andκαὶwill seeὄψεταιHimαὐτὸνeveryπᾶςeyeὀφθαλμὸςandκαὶthose whoοἵτινεςHimαὐτὸνpiercedἐξεκέντησαν,andκαὶwill wailκόψονταιbecause ofἐπ’Himαὐτὸνallπᾶσαιtheαἱtribesφυλαὶof theτῆςearthγῆς.Yesναί,Amenἀμήν.
8IἘγώamεἰμιtheτὸAlphaἌλφαandκαὶtheτὸOmegaὮ,saysλέγειLordκύριος,ὁGodθεός,the [One]ὁbeingὢνandκαὶwhoὁwasἦνandκαὶwhoὁis comingἐρχόμενος,theὁAlmightyπαντοκράτωρ.
9IἘγὼJohnἸωάννης,theὁbrotherἀδελφὸςof youὑμῶνandκαὶfellow-partakerσυγκοινωνὸςinἐνtheτῇtribulationθλίψειandκαὶkingdomβασιλείᾳandκαὶenduranceὑπομονῇinἐνJesusἸησοῦ,wasἐγενόμηνinἐνtheτῇislandνήσῳτῇcalledκαλουμένῃPatmosΠάτμῳon account ofδιὰtheτὸνwordλόγοντοῦof Godθεοῦandκαὶtheτὴνtestimonyμαρτυρίανof JesusἸησοῦ.
10I wasἐγενόμηνinἐν[the] SpiritπνεύματιonἐνtheτῇLord’sκυριακῇdayἡμέρᾳ,andκαὶI heardἤκουσαbehindὀπίσωmeμουa voiceφωνὴνloudμεγάληνlike thatὡςof a trumpetσάλπιγγος
11sayingλεγούσης·WhatὋyou seeβλέπειςwriteγράψονinεἰςa bookβιβλίονandκαὶsendπέμψονto theταῖςsevenἑπτὰchurchesἐκκλησίαις,toεἰςEphesusἜφεσονandκαὶtoεἰςSmyrnaΣμύρνανandκαὶtoεἰςPergamumΠέργαμονandκαὶtoεἰςThyatiraΘυάτειραandκαὶtoεἰςSardisΣάρδειςandκαὶtoεἰςPhiladelphiaΦιλαδέλφειανandκαὶtoεἰςLaodiceaΛαοδίκειαν.
12AndΚαὶI turnedἐπέστρεψαto seeβλέπεινtheτὴνvoiceφωνὴνthatἥτιςwas speakingἐλάλειwithμετ’meἐμοῦ·Andκαὶhaving turnedἐπιστρέψαςI sawεἶδονsevenἑπτὰlampstandsλυχνίαςgoldenχρυσᾶς,
13andκαὶinἐν[the] midstμέσῳof theτῶνlampstandsλυχνιῶν[One] likeὅμοιον[the] Sonυἱὸνof Manἀνθρώπου,having been clothedἐνδεδυμένονto the feetποδήρηandκαὶhaving been girded aboutπεριεζωσμένονatπρὸςtheτοῖςbreastsμαστοῖςwith a sashζώνηνgoldenχρυσᾶν·
14ἡAndδὲthe headκεφαλὴof Himαὐτοῦandκαὶtheαἱhairsτρίχες[are] whiteλευκαὶas ifὡςwoolἔριονwhiteλευκόν,asὡςsnowχιών,andκαὶtheοἱeyesὀφθαλμοὶof Himαὐτοῦ[are] likeὡςa flameφλὸξof fireπυρός,
15andκαὶtheοἱfeetπόδεςof Himαὐτοῦ[are] likeὅμοιοιfine bronzeχαλκολιβάνῳ,asὡςinἐνa furnaceκαμίνῳhaving been refinedπεπυρωμένης,andκαὶtheἡvoiceφωνὴof Himαὐτοῦ[is] likeὡς[the] voiceφωνὴof watersὑδάτωνmanyπολλῶν,
16andκαὶHe is holdingἔχωνinἐνtheτῇrightδεξιᾷhandχειρὶof Himαὐτοῦstarsἀστέραςsevenἑπτά,andκαὶout ofἐκtheτοῦmouthστόματοςof Himαὐτοῦa swordῥομφαίαtwo-edgedδίστομοςsharpὀξεῖαis going forthἐκπορευομένη,andκαὶtheἡfaceὄψιςof Himαὐτοῦ[is] likeὡςtheὁsunἥλιοςshiningφαίνειinἐνtheτῇfull strengthδυνάμειof itαὐτοῦ.
17AndΚαὶwhenὅτεI sawεἶδονHimαὐτόν,I fellἔπεσαatπρὸςtheτοὺςfeetπόδαςof Himαὐτοῦas thoughὡςdeadνεκρός·AndκαὶHe placedἔθηκενtheτὴνright handδεξιὰνof Himαὐτοῦuponἐπ’meἐμὲsayingλέγων·NotΜὴfearφοβοῦ·IἐγώamεἰμιtheὁFirstπρῶτοςandκαὶtheὁLastἔσχατος,
18andκαὶtheὁLiving [One]ζῶν—andκαὶI wasἐγενόμηνdeadνεκρὸςandκαὶbeholdἰδοὺlivingζῶνI amεἰμιtoεἰςtheτοὺςagesαἰῶναςof theτῶνagesαἰώνων—andκαὶI haveἔχωtheτὰςkeysκλεῖςofτοῦDeathθανάτουandκαὶofτοῦHadesᾅδου.
19Writeγράψονthereforeοὖνthe things thatἃyou have seenεἶδεςandκαὶthe things thatἃareεἰσὶνandκαὶthe things thatἃare aboutμέλλειabout to beγίνεσθαιafterμετὰtheseταῦτα.
20theτὸmysteryμυστήριονof theτῶνsevenἑπτὰstarsἀστέρωνwhichοὓςyou sawεἶδεςonἐπὶtheτῆςright handδεξιᾶςof Meμου,andκαὶtheτὰςsevenἑπτὰlampstandsλυχνίαςτὰςgoldenχρυσᾶς·Theοἱsevenἑπτὰstarsἀστέρες[the] angelsἄγγελοιof theτῶνsevenἑπτὰchurchesἐκκλησιῶνareεἰσίν,andκαὶtheαἱlampstandsλυχνίαιαἱsevenἑπτὰ[the] sevenἑπτὰchurchesἐκκλησίαιareεἰσίν.
